Brrrr Temps, Free Blood Pressure Screening, Town Board Meetings

Now with all the holidays past, and the first big winter storm slowly melting away, Patch wants to help readers get back on the usual work and school week track and offers up insight on what’s happening around town this week.

Bundle, Layer and Bundle Some More

While Hercules didn’t deliver on its name in most areas, with just six inches of light snow falling, Mother Nature promises to hit the south shore with a big whammy this week when it comes to wind chill. While rain is expected today, with a high temp of 50 degrees, it won’t stay for long. Tuesday is the big chill day with temps dropping down to single digits, according to the Natioal Weather Service, with a high of 15 degrees in West Islip during day hours and a low of 6 degrees in the evening. Temps slowly rise the rest of the week with a chance of more snow coming on Thursday.
