The reward for information leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for wrapping a puppy in a trash bag and tossing it out of a moving car in Brentwood has now reached $25,000.
The Suffolk County SPCA increased its contribution from $2,000 to $5,000 and the ASPCA has offered $15,000, according to a report by The Associated Press. Patch that Port Washington-based North Shore Animal League America offered an award of $5,000.
The three-month-old pitbull puppy, who , suffered a broken neck in the incident. He is currently undergoing treatment for that and other injuries at the in West Islip.

Joey was injured on Saturday, Aug. 11 near the entrance to the Pilgrim Psychiatric Center on Sagtikos Parkway. Anyone with information reagrding the incident may call the SPCA anonymously at 631-382-7722.
