Photos: WIBCC's 18th Annual Clam Shucking Contest

A look at the West Islip Breast Cancer Coalition's annual Fire Island fundraiser.

A sea of pink invaded Fire Island as the held their 18th Annual Clam Shucking Contest in Kismet last Tuesday. 

Hundreds of Long Islanders packed the dock near Surf's Out restaurant to enjoy the festivities including raffle baskets, an auction and live entertainment.

According to President this event is the coalition's largest, and accounts for more than 50 percent of their annual fundraising. All proceeds benefit the coalition's "Lend A Helping Hand" program, which offers support and assistance to local women fighting breast cancer.

The champion of the day was 59-year-old West Islip resident John Senft, who beat out 15 fellow contestants to win the clam shucking contest.
