Last Chance: Team Up with Postal Service to Donate Food to Island Harvest

Mail carriers will be collecting food donations placed next to mailboxes on Saturday, May 12.

The U.S. Postal Service is helping to collect food to donate to Island Harvest, and here's your chance to help.

On Saturday, May 12, residents are asked to leave a donation of non-perishable foods, like canned soup or vegetables, pasta, rice or cereal, in a sturdy bag next to their mailbox.

Postal workers will then collect the donated food items and deliver them to Island Harvest, which will distribute them to 570 food pantries, soup kitchens and emergency feeding programs across Long Island.
