Guilds of Good Sam Donate Layettes to New Mothers

The local volunteer group collected baby clothes and accessories.

The were in their familiar goodwill spirits recently, the hospital reported.

The volunteer group recently collected enough items for 61 layettes, which included baby accessories such as cloths, toys, diapers, handmade blankets, outfits and more, the hospital said.

“The layettes will be given to new mothers who otherwise might not have something to bring their babies home in,” said Joanne Schroeder, RN and nurse manager.

According to Good Sam, there are approximately 3,000 infants born at the hospital’s BirthPlace each year.

Terese Weber, committee chair and member of the Great South Bay Guild, said she was especially proud of all the members who went “above and beyond their regular volunteer work.”

The Guilds of Good Samaritan are comprised of volunteers from nearby communities, who actively participate in fundraiser and service efforts that benefit the hospital and its patients.

You can thank all these POS politicians for the new gun legislation designed to make law abidingRead More citizens give up their second amendment rights out of sheer frustration and incontinence of owning a gun legally for increases in savage on citizen violence. This is only the beginning and in short time many New Yorker's will be forced to remain in their homes fearing one of these animals will make them their pray. I for one believe in the old adage, it's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.
