Chamber Collecting Children's Books

Donate your extra book drive Friday and Saturday

Editor's note: The following was contributed by Kathy Carlin, a member of the WI Chamber of Commerce and Mary Kay independent sales director.

Nearly two-thirds of low-income American families do not own any books for their children.  This is the reality for children who are growing up in poverty today; books are scarce.  Eighty percent of the preschools and after school programs serving children in need do not have a single book for the children they serve.

Here is your chance to help a child.  Start a collection drive, or just clean out your attic. Tell your friends that we are collecting. I will be happy to take collections and will drop off at the donation center.  Anyone who would like to bring books to donate can bring them to me (17 Chestnut Street) on Friday, June 10 and Saturday June 11.

Thank you for your support!
