Entenmann's in Bay Shore

In today's Branch Spotlight on our Facebook page (Be sure to Like Us on Facebook!) , we featured our location at the Entenmann's Factory in Bay Shore. The branch is exclusively for the employees at the bakery, and smells absolutely wonderful (picture a freshly baked cake times a million!)

Tucked away on Fifth Avenue, the Entenmann's Factory is situated on a tree-lined 5 acre site, and employs roughly 450 Long Islanders. Opened in 1961, the Bay Shore site was the flagship manufacturing facility for the blossoming company. In fact, Entenmann's built a factory is so large that it is still the largest baking facility of its kind in the United States. Since the Bay Shore plant opened, the business has grown to include Florida, the Midwest and West Coast.

Many don't realize that many products are still not only Made in the USA, but Made on Long Island. To complement our service sector, Nassau and Suffolk manufactures products as diverse as windows to pharmaceuticals, fighter jet guidance systems to fresh-baked All Butter Loaf Cakes.

What this diversity in manufacturing shows is that on Long Island, small business is alive and well. What is essential is that local governments and financial institutions work together to keep these plants that produce hard goods and employee good people stay on Long Island. The more high-quality, high paying manufacturing jobs we have, the better off we are as a region.

As a credit union, TFCU works hard to serve our businesses needs. Our business services are catered to your needs, and provides the same attention that our personal accounts do. Stop by your local TFCU branch today and see how we can help your business (and Long Island!) grow!
