WI Wrestling Tourney Helps Take Down Breast Cancer

Tournament raises more than $1,000 for the WIBCC.

The West Islip varsity wrestling team was tackling a lot more than just their opponents this holiday season.

The team, coached by Nick LaGiglia, hosted the West Islip Holiday Breast Cancer Awareness Wrestling Tournament, helped take down breast cancer by raising about $1,000 for the WI Breast Cancer Coalition through t-shirt and 50/50 raffle sales.

And to boot, the Lions took home the title, edging out two-time defending champs William Floyd.
