WI Lacrosse Alumni Report: Caufield Earns Player of the Week Honors

Here's a look at how former West Islip High School lacrosse players fared for their new schools last week.

Every Monday during the college lacrosse season, Patch will update you on the progress of former players.  Since there's so many to count, we won't be listing every player each week.

Player of the Week: Brian Caufield (UAlbany, Sr.)

Caufield earns Player of the Week honor not only for his personal success, but because Albany just beat two top-15 teams in back to back week.  His four point effort (goal, 3 assists) on Saturday in an upset victory over No. 13 Ohio State helped give the Danes the momentum they must have to knock off No. 1 Syracuse Tuesday night.

(UNC, Fr.)

You might see Galasso's name on here and wonder if he contributes a good portion of his meal money to have his name plastered on this list every week.  But when you travel to No. 7 Princeton for a crucial Friday night game and come away with a 9-5 victory with three more points (goal, 2 assists), your mention here is well merited.

Galasso is now averaging a team-high 3.7 points per game.

Andrew Hodgson (Towson, Fr.)

Making his first appearance on Patch's Lacrosse report, Hodgson was able to net two points (goal, assist) in an 8-4 loss to Maryland.  With the loss, Towson falls to 1-3 on the season and will look to rebound against Navy on Tuesday.

Ian Braddish (Hofstra, So.)

Braddish netted two goals for the Pride yesterday in a 11-6 win over Air Force.  Hofstra is now ranked No. 4 in the current Nike/IL D1 college rankings but only have one more ranked opponent on their schedule in the regular season.

Devan Crimi (Adelphi, Fr.)

The top-ranked Adelphi women's lacrosse team slammed Philadelphia University in their home opener on Saturday, 25-3.  Crimi notched five goals and two assists for the (2-0) Panthers.
