WI College LAX Report: Kelly Leads Brown To Upset Win

The college lacrosse season is in full swing and some former West Islip High School stars are once again having an impact. Throughout the spring season, Patch will provide weekly updates on local players. If we’ve missed someone, e-mail Greg Sleter (gregory.sleter@patch.com) and we’ll add your favorite player to our weekly watch list.

• Freshman Jack Kelly helped lead Brown University to a 9-8 overtime victory over No. 5 Massachusetts. The goaltender made eight saves in the upset win.

• Defenseman Michael McCormack had an assist, five ground balls and two caused turnovers in Yale’s 15-8 win over Albany.

Andrew Hodgson had three goals for Towson in the Tigers 13-5 win over Mount St. Mary's.

Michael Sagl had a hat trick and five total points for Quinnipiac in the Bobcats 12-10 win over Detroit Mercy.

Bryan Badolato had three goals to lead Marquette to an 8-6 win over Air Force, the first in school history. JJ Sagl had 14 saves in the win and Brendan Smith had an assist. On defense, Jerry Nobile had three groundballs and Liam Byrnes and Paul Riportella had one groundball each.

Matt Gebhardt scored two goals and had four assists for Pace in the Setters' 15-7 win over Dominican. 

Conor Braddish had a goal for Colgate in the Raiders 19-3 loss to Cornell.

Sara Sangiorgio had four goals and Devan Crimi chipped in with two goals in Adelphi’s 19-2 win over American International.

Jackie Moynihan had 4 points (2G, 2A) in Hartwick College’s 14-11 win over Marywood.

• Oneonta’s women’s lacrosse team kicks off its season Tuesday at home against Hartwick College. The Red Dragon’s feature three former West Islip players — junior Casey Sarle, captain; junior Ashley Howard; and junior Michelle Genovese.

You can thank all these POS politicians for the new gun legislation designed to make law abidingRead More citizens give up their second amendment rights out of sheer frustration and incontinence of owning a gun legally for increases in savage on citizen violence. This is only the beginning and in short time many New Yorker's will be forced to remain in their homes fearing one of these animals will make them their pray. I for one believe in the old adage, it's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

I think Proposition 2 is a great idea, in the current structure you have to "call out" anRead More individual basically saying "I think you are doing a particularly bad job". Politics get dirty enough as is and I think this will increase participation and ultimately give us a better Board of Education.
