WI College LAX Report: Gebhardt Named Top March Athlete At Pace

Patch will provide weekly reports on how former local lacrosse players are doing at the collegiate level.

The college lacrosse season is in full swing and some former West Islip High School stars are once again having an impact. Throughout the spring season, Patch will provide weekly updates on local players. Matt Gebhardt enjoyed a solid week for Pace. This past Wednesday, the junior had 2 goals and 3 assists in the Setters 13-12 win over American International. Gebhardt’s second goal tied the game at 11 with 2:33 remaining in the fourth quarter. On Saturday, he had two goals in Pace’s 13-6 loss to St. Michael’s. In addition, he was also named Pace’s male Athlete of the Month for March.

Kyle Turri made 7 saves for Duke as the Blue Devils topped High Point 17-6. The sophomore played 46:10 and allowed 5 goals.

• Yale’s Michael McCormack had 5 groundballs in the Bulldogs 7-5 win over Dartmouth.

Michael Sagl of Quinnipiac had 1 goal and 2 assists in the Bobcats’ 12-8 win over Mt. St. Mary’s.

Andrew Hodgson had 1 assist for Townson in the Tigers’ 9-5 win over the University of Massachusetts.

A.J. Pellati made 14 saves for Mercy, but the Mavericks fell to NYIT 16-11.

• This past Friday night, Tom Moore had 2 assists for Denver as the Pioneers topped Marquette 15-4. On Sunday, Moore scored his second goal of the season in Denver’s 11-10 double-overtime win over Bellarmine. His goal tied the game at 9 with 4:42 remaining in the fourth quarter.

• Marquette defenseman Jerry Nobile had a goal for Marquette, but the Golden Eagles fell to Denver 15-4.

Katie Rotan had 2 goals for LIU Post as the Pioneers topped Mercy 16-3 this past Wednesday. On Saturday, Rotan had 3 goals in LIU Post’s 19-7 win over Merrimack.

• Adelphi’s Devan Crimi had 3 goals and 3 assists as the Panthers defeated Southern New Hampshire 24-7. Sara Sangiorgio chipped in with a goal for Adelphi.

Casey Sarle had an assist for Oneonta as the Red Dragons defeated Buffalo State 13-10.

Jackie Moynihan had 1 goal for Hartwick in the Hawks 18-12 win over Alfred University on Saturday. On Sunday, Moynihan had 2 goals in Hartwick’s 13-10 loss to Elmira College.

Deanna Monfredo had a goal for Curry College in the Colonels 11-7 win over Roger Williams.
