WI Alumni Sports Report: Sagl Named Rookie of the Week

Lacrosse

  • Quinnipiac freshman Mike Sagl has been named the NEC Rookie of the Week for his five goal, two assist total against No. 13 Fairfield and Detroit Mercy. He also leads his team with 10 goals. 
  • Lauren Spagnoletta and CW Post teammate each tallied three goals in an absolute blowout 23-3 victory over South New Hampshire.
  • Senior Post attackman Eddie Plompen recorded a goal and assist in a comeback 13-7 win over Bentley. 
  • UNC's Nicky Galasso got back in the box score (coming off a foot injury) with a goal against Princeton on Sunday. 
  • Sophomore Alyssa Costantino had 10 save as Syracuse upset No. 3 Maryland on Saturday 10-9. It's the first time Cuse has ever beaten Maryland.
  • The Adelphi Panthers continued their tear on womens lacrosse with a blasting of Philly U 21-3.  Sara Sangiorgio tallied a whopping six goals and teammate Devan Crimi added two goals and one assist.
