Football blows out Connetquot, improves to 2-0; girls soccer off to great start.

Football: The Lions football team continued to turn heads in Suffolk County on Saturday, blowing the doors off sixth-ranked Connetquot, 36-0. Running back Mike Cestaro rushed for 121 yards on 15 carries and a touchdown and Anthony Santo was 4-for-7 passing for 95 yards and two scores (1 rushing, 1 passing).

Girls Soccer: Amanda Martinez and the Lions have come flying out of the gates this fall in the hopes of returning to their third consecutive county title game. In a rematch of last year's finals, the Lions dispatched Smithtown East, 3-2. Since then, the team has improved to 4-0, with Martinez scoring two goals in three of those contests. Her seven goals put her among Long Island's leaders thus far this season

Boys Golf: Coach George Botsch is extremely pleased at the way his veteran team has been performing.  Currently, the boys are 4-0 and have beaten conference favorite Walt Whitman twice.  They're led by John Riportella, who shot 35 (even par) in a match last week at Southward Ho.  They'll need him to go low again as they take on Lindenhurst on Monday at Bergen Point.
