West Islip Little League's Black Diamonds Dominate Preseason Tournament

Despite cold temperatures, boys baseball comes out swinging.

A group of West Islip Little League players are playing tough in highly competitive leagues and tournaments. When this group of boys won the Championship at Baseball Heaven in the fall of 2012 it was an outstanding accomplishment.

This past weekend, which opens the 2013 season in the Baseball Heaven tournament called the Pre Spring Bash, these boys took the championship once again. The boys played tournament teams from Forest Hills, Deer Park and Half Hollow Hills. The entire team was on their game in some cold temperatures.

In the semi-final game West Islip came out swinging, scoring 11 runs with excellent pitching to move them into the Championship game.

Going into the Championship game, their third of the day, WI came out and scored 4 runs in the top of the first and followed up with another 5 runs in the second. The hitting continued for the rest of the game, followes by great pitching. The game ended 17 – 2. Congratulations to all of the boys and hopefully there are more to come.
