PHOTOS: West Islip Little League Celebrates Opening Day

Season kicked off with a community event.

On Saturday April 14, the West Islip Little league celebrated their opening day.

Under clear sunny skies, the league held its traditional party complete with bounce castles, "Pitch Hit and Run" contests for all ages, spun cotton candy and ices along with a delicious Bar-B-Q of Hamburgers and Hot Dogs.

The day was truly a community event with many people volunteering their time including the West Islip fire department, the boys High School Varsity baseball team along with their coach Sean Rush, Chris Hillier from the Basketball Booster club, VJ entertainment providing the DJ and bounce castles, The West Islip Veteran's color guard and the entire West Islip Little league Board of Directors to bring a great time to the little league players and their families.
