West Islip, Chaminade Renew Rivalry

High school lacrosse powerhouses face off Saturday at the high school.

Two of the nation’s top high school lacrosse programs will meet again Saturday in West Islip.

The defending New York State Class A Champion West Islip Lions will welcome Catholic League powerhouse Chaminade to Lions Path for a 12 p.m. faceoff. At the start of the week, both teams sat in the top-20 of the Under Armour/Inside Lacrosse High School Power Rankings: Chaminade, No. 2; West Islip, No. 17.

Both teams have had solid starts to their respective 2013 seasons. Chaminade (2-0) defeated Massapequa 9-5 and shut out Fordham Prep 8-0.
