The boys of the U10 Black Diamonds (Bobby DiCapua, Bradley Battaglini, TJ Mulroy, Kevin Palm, Bobby Marsh, Nick Sandoval, Ryan Rafferty, Joey Donarumia, Sean DeLuca, Johnny Catusco and Christopher Viggers) participated in the 2013 DANIELLE ROSANO TOURNAMENT in Setauket this past weekend. Coached by Kevin DiCapua, Kevin Battaglini and John Mulroy, the boys played one game on Friday, two on Saturday and two more on Sunday.  They were victorious with a 5 win and no loss record.  The boys started the tournament against Hanks Yanks (a team funded by the New York Yankees) on Friday and won, 20 to 11. Saturday’s games were against the LI Prospects and Three Village Patriots. The Black Diamonds won both games, 11-4 and 6-3 respectively. Sunday morning started the Semi-Finals. The Black Diamonds played the Kings Park Hawks and they were ready to play, the boys came out smashing the ball, winning 16-4 in four innings. Next was the Championship Game, in which they faced the Three Village Patriots again. Excellent pitching and a contagious hitting streak made the Black Diamonds come out on top 14-2.

The Black Diamonds have now won 2 tournaments in a row. Currently, they are in the 9/11 Memorial Charity Baseball and Softball Tournament, sponsored by Verizon FIOS, with money being raised for the MIT Police Officer Sean Collier Fund and Tuesday's Children.
