The star tailback will represent Long Island in annual all-star event.
St. John's High School's Derelle Hunter will play in the annual Empire Challenge all-star football game Tuesday, June 21 at Hofstra University.
Hunter, who will play running back in the game, will represent Long Island on the gridiron one last time as they look to beat the New York City team in the game meant to raise awareness for cystic fibrosis and youth football for the Boomer Esiason Foundation.

"It’s great to put those pads on one more time at the high school level," said Hunter, who rushed for over 2,300 yards in his career. "I’m hoping to get the W."
Hunter is still undecided in where he will play college football next season.

There have been only four other players from St. John's who have been selected to the game since its inception 16 years ago. They include Anton McKenzie (1999), Andre Jackson (2006), Steven Westby (2008) and Gary Lindner (2009).
The Long Island team has been holding its practices at Sachem High School North this week and will pick up at Hofstra in the days prior to the contest.
