Turri Drafted by MLL's Charlotte Hounds

West Islip lacrosse star has the option to turn pro after completing his senior season this year at Duke.

West Islip lacrosse star Justin Turri has enjoyed some of the sport’s highest accolades at the collegiate and high school levels.

Now, Turri has the option of going pro as the Duke senior was drafted this past Friday by the expansion Charlotte Hounds of Major League Lacrosse. He was one of four Blue Devils selected in the draft’s first nine picks.

A 2007 West Islip High School graduate, Turri in 2011 was named after helping Duke reach the Division I NCAA national semi-finals. In 2010, he had 20 goals and 37 total points, including 6 goals and 10 points in the NCAA tournament that ended with Duke winning the school’s first lacrosse National Championship.
