Maione Set To Take The Field For Lizards

Former West Islip High School lacrosse star enters his fourth season with Long Island's professional LAX team.

The New York Lizards kick off their 2013 season Sunday at home against the Boston Cannons, and a former West Islip lacrosse star will be in the Lizards lineup.

Albert Maione, who was acquired in a trade with Chesapeake, will begin his fourth year with the team. In 2012, Maione played in 13 games for the Lizards scoring 9 goals with 3 assists.

In an effort to expand the team’s fan base beyond Long Island, the Lizards will play most of its home games at Hofstra University, with a handful of contests set for Icahn Stadium on Randalls Island.
