Justin Turri Named Assistant Coach for Army Lacrosse

West Islip lacrosse legend Justin Turri has joined the coaching staff of the Army Black Knights.

Turri, who currently plays professionally with Major League Lacrosse's Rochester Rattlers, was named an assistant coach at West Point on Tuesday.

"I am ecstatic to welcome Justin Turri to the Army lacrosse family," Army lacrosse head coach Joe Alberici said in a statement posted on the Army Black Knights website. "Not only is Justin an eager, talented young coach, he is a proven winner. He comes from a great lacrosse pedigree and truly understands the value of being successful on the field and in the classroom. We are all extremely lucky to have Justin on board as we look to take Army lacrosse to new heights."

Turri helped Duke win a national title in 2010 and was a two-time United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-American.

Before that, he was an All-America star at West Islip High, leading the Lions to a 66-3 record during his three years on varsity, as well as a pair of New York State Class A Championships in 2006 and 2007.
