VIDEO: Behind Turri, Lions Claim Another County Title

Duke-bound goalie Kyle Turri made a game-saving stop in OT that led to Brendan Smith's game-winner.

For an eighth consecutive season, the West Islip varsity boys lacrosse team captured the Suffolk County Class A Championship, this time edging Smithtown West 12-11 in OT at Lavalle Stadium at Stony Brook University.

Senior captain Kyle Turri made an incredible, one-on-one, point blank save on Smithtown West star James Pannell early in the extra period to give West Islip possession.  Following a timeout, Brendan Smith took a feed from Nick Aponte and ripped it past Bulls' goalie Ryan Adler for the game-winner.

Video, photos, game story all coming up shortly.  Stay Tuned.
