Zotto To Host Drug Abuse Awareness Seminar

Board of Education trustee Michael Zotto will speak to parents and teens Wednesday night.

Michael Zotto, West Islip Board of Education trustee and retired NYPD Detective, will host a community seminar Wednesday evening to raise awareness of drug abuse among teens.

Parents, older students and concerned community members are invited to attend the free presentation at Beach Street Middle School at 7 p.m.

Zotto will speak about the epidemic addictions that have become prevalent in Long Island neighborhoods, and will host a question and answer session. In addition, a young, recovering drug and alcohol abuser will share their story with the audience.

"Please come out and show your support in order to combat the perils of drug abuse that face our community’s youngsters – for they are our hope for tomorrow," Zotto said in an email.

Zotto has hosted several drug abuse forums in the past in West Islip and sorrounding communities.
