WI Lacrosse Alumni Roundup

Here's a look at how former West Islip High School lacrosse players fared for their new schools last week.

Every Monday during the college lacrosse season, Patch will update you on the progress of former players.  Since there's so many to count, we won't be listing every player each week.

Player of the Week: Ryan Flanagan (UNC, Sr.)

recorded two huge goals in UNC's 10-8 win over Navy this past weekend.  The team's co-captain evened the game at 5-5 just before halftime, and scored the game's only fourth quarter goal to put the Heels up 10-8. He also recorded four ground balls.

Eddie Plompen (C.W. Post, So.)

The No. 1 ranked Pioneers added their fifth win of the season with an 18-2 drubbing of American International University.  Plompen led the way for Post with four goals and one assist.

(UNC, Fr.)

The top high school recruit in the country last year totaled three points (one goal, two assists) for UNC.  He and Flanagan (see above) played vital roles for the Heels' rebound from last week's loss to Ohio State.

Brian Caufield (Albany, Sr.)

UAlbany didn't exactly start their season the way they would've liked as No. 20 Drexel knocked off the Danes 14-7 on Saturday. In the midst of the defeat, Caufield (midfielder) recorded one goal and one assist.

Bryan Badolato (Sacred Heart, So.)

After losing to Hofstra last weekend, the pioneers rebounded with a 9-8 victory over Marist on Saturday.  Badolato (midfielder) contributed two goals, one assist and three ground balls in the win.
