West Islip Robotics Team Preps for Regionals

Group is busy constructing a new robot for the competition in April.

The West Islip Robotics Team is busy lately, working on a new robot for the Long Island Regional competition held at Hofstra University in April.

The team is divided into groups, each focusing on a particular role in the construction: software/programming team, mechanical and electrical engineering team and the CAD team. Mentors oversee each group.

With a few weeks to go until the competition, the team is practicing using last year's robot. This will allow them to tweak any software issues as well as practice the various movements that will be needed during competition.
