West Islip civic and community groups offer scholarships to district seniors but to be eligible the senior must complete an application which is now available on the district's website.
The scholarships, according to a notice on the school website, can be based on financial need, community service, academic performance, participation in school activities, or any combination of these.
The application is also available in the high school main office.
Please understand that applications are anonymous when submitted to local scholarship committees. Students should complete all requested information on the application, being especially careful not to make any personal references that may identify themselves.
The application plus four copies must be returned to the high school main office no later than Tuesday, November 12, 2013.
