Renowned Musician Visits SJB Jazz Class

Glenn Drewes stopped by West Islip to give a masterful demonstration.

Last week, the St. John the Baptist High School jazz band received a special visit from one of the most sought after jazz trumpet players on the New York City music scene.

Glenn Drewes, a West Babylon native and current Glen Cove resident, gave a masterful demonstration for good friend and performing arts faculty member Chris Donohue's jazz class.  According to SJB, Drewes and Donohue have taught dozens of workshops and clinics at high schools and colleges throughout Long Island for more than 12 years.

"The students ate up every minute of the time we spent together," Donohue said.  "They could see how much Mr. Drewes loves music, and particularly how much he loves Jazz."
