Here is a several part video on Common Core...Please watch this before you go to the meeting. This is giving the federal government a lot of control over our children's education. Even the teachers and administrators won't have much leeway in how and what they teach. Please get informed http://noisyroom.net/blog/2013/03/14/marxism-in-education-the-infiltration-of-our-school-systems-by-the-common-core-standards/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Noisyroomnet+%28NoisyRoom.net%29&utm_content=Yahoo%21+Mail

This is what I've been saying in another thread. Race to the top money, 700 million dollars of government bribery to adopt the common core Curriculum. Race to the Top money for teacher evaluations that submerge the school principal into observations and evaluations per teacher and then conferences before and after with administrators that take up valuable valubable time from the important day to day issues WE ALL KNOW principals and teachers are consumbed with regarding our children. This is being done to insure entrenchment. This is being done because teachers know that this common core standard being pushed upon individual schools is a bogus government power grab. It's overreaching federal government and it's premise is to educate our students using a global model as though the economy our children are poised to inherit from us today had anything to do with this so called global model. This is just more of the insane Green Earth Charter nut jobs and the progressives using public school to indemnify their plan by using our kids and our tax dollars. I'm very surprised by the teachers union. I am not sure that they understand how this will impact their careers, the style they bring to the table as a teacher, it will lock each teacher into a box, their creative juices, which makes them unique will be quelched. This is not what Americans should be embracing from this Obama power grab. Get educated before you head into that meeting!

Our country is dealing with severe economic issues. The wealthiest at one end, the poorest at the other end and the middle class being consumed, ravaged. The poor are being taken care of by the government and illegal aliens are being offered things that we can't possibly afford. Taking care of our own is hard enough, and we should be doing just that. The federal government is supposed to be simple, individual states are supposed to govern more locally. States rights are being infringed with Obamas overreaching hand. Who's saying anything about it? Are you? Do you want to see his plan invade the public schools? I am pretty sure we have highly qualified teachers and principals to do these things that we as a nation have been doing and improving upon for hundreds of years. American has an identity. We are not healthy enough right now to be thinking about our carbon footprint and how it impacts other nations. They have their own leadership and governments for that purpose. We as a nation are the most benevolent there is. We are generous beyond measure and much of our financial support to these countries can't even be traced and proven to be distributed for the purposes we intended it for. This model of education is prepared to inform our students about their carbon footprint and the need to take universal responsibilty for mother earth blah blah blah. This agenda in general, is to eliminate national sovereignty and indentity and force a global citizenry mindset instead.

Isn't telling that parents need to be indocrtinated/educated in this, to accept it, embrace it, and essentially like sheep, go along with it. The model for teaching has served this country QUITE WELL for umpteenth years. Do you people understand how much money has been thrown at this tax payer paid for program? Look at the mission statement for crying out loud. All of you highly educated parents, with your degrees in math and science that got you where you are today, which you paid for in spades with your monthly college payments for your college loans, are you going to stand by and allow this convoluted Go Math for example. Do you math majors who spent countless hours of your college careers learning the American standards that got you where you are, do you agree with this? I know you can't because some of the smartest parents I know take a look at this so called Go Math and scratch their heads asking "what the heck is this" but regardless, they say nothing. Teachers, are you seriously going to tell me that this program is acceptable to you? You know it's not. You know that it is requiring you, a well educated and talented, professional to jump through hoops to be trained in. It is taking away valuable time from your life to include as part of the other balls you are juggling right now and this is putting added stress on the entire curricula you already prepare for. Is this what you are paying back your student loans for? To change the entire style for a UN program?

My biggest problem is that once it's implemented, there is no turning back.

The two private trade organizations The National Governors Association (NGA) and Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) sure had a nifty plan to nationalize education. Get states to “voluntarily” sign up to relinquish their constitutional authority to develop and deliver education for their citizens in exchange for two consortia controlling state educational programs. “Voluntarily” refers to the dangling of money to states competing for Race to the Top, but when some states still didn’t compete for or win grants, the ESEA waivers included states having to commit to CCSS.

The money will run out in 2014 and a private consortia will emerge to fund this nationalized education product. PARCC and Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortia have become 501 C 3's. What's the problem with that? Who will be in control of the standards? Who will be designing the assessments? Will voters have any say in who is educating their children? Could billionaires with an agenda (pick your side, left or right) organize a nonprofit to deliver the type of education they believe students should learn? Now that taxpayers know of the plans of these two private trade organizations to nationalize education, do you think they will still want their tax money used for copyrighted standards by non-profit organizations? Isn’t education development and delivery the role of the states and local school districts? Why is education now outsourced to private consortia and in the future, 501(c)(3) groups?

Parents, please if nothing else, prevent the data sharing this program has been given permission from NYState to provide about your child. http://www.classsizematters.org/parents-beware-new-york-state-is-planning-to-share-your-child%e2%80%99s

I'm sorry I am haunting here, but their tactics are working, it's getting results and making grounds because the establishment counts on all of us too distracted on a day to day basis, too busy to notice, too tired to care. Before you know it, this garbage has arrived, it's taken a foothold, it's like a drive by, and you are left scratching your heads asking yourselves, what the heck happened?
