Our Lady of Lourdes High School will be closed for a second-straight day on Tuesday as Hurricane Sandy continues to pummel the area.
The Catholic school joins the West Islip School District and St. John The Baptist Diocesan High School, both of which will also remain closed Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center remains open for those needing emergency care. The Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island is also open around-the-clock to help in animal emergencies.
Islip Town converted its Brentwood Recreation Center to a pet shelter for residents who evacuate their homes but cannot accommodate their pets.
Town shelters were also established in Brentwood, Farmingville and Holbrook for Islip residents who need to evacuate.
