Students at Oquenock Elementary School recently participated in the “Be Pool Smart" campaign, which began in 2007 and invites students to participate by submitting posters that illustrated one or more safety tips to prevent accidental drowning.
Entries were judged by local legislators, with one poster chosen to represent all of Suffolk County on the cover of the “Be Pool Smart” pamphlet.
The winners from the 11th Legislative District, Isabella Lucchese and Jillian Radesca, were congratulated by Leg. Thomas Barraga (R-West Islip) along with their parents and Oquenock school administrators.
