The West Islip Hoops Club invites the community to attend the new scoreboard dedication ceremony which will take place inside the high school gymnasium on Tuesday, Dec. 20.
The new digital multisport scoreboard was the result of the town's participation in the that was held on October 15. Chris Hillier, president of the WI Hoops Club, said the event sold 477 tickets and raised about $20,000, enough for the desired scoreboard.
"We request your attendance, in order for you to see the results of your generous support of West Islip sports, and for you to be acknowledged publicly for your contribution!" Hillier said. "We greatly appreciate and recommend the support of your business in our community toward providing our children with the benefits of team athletic sports."
