Character Building Outside the Classroom

Paul J. Bellew School PTA holds car wash

In these times when school spending in being scrutinized more than ever, any kind of effort to fund school events outside of the budget helps. The Paul J. Bellew Elementary School PTA organized a car wash fundraiser on Saturday to help fund school events.

"The kids love it," said PTA member Ann Feminella.

While the students of the Bellew don't mind getting their hands wet and putting in a little elbow grease to clean cars, their principal doesn't mind either. Principal Dan Hunter was out with the kids on Saturday morning, helping to clean cars. Hunter believes it sets an example for the kids. "You set a good example and they learn," he said. "It's part of a good character education outside the school."
