Gianna Spadolini, a 3rd grader at Paul J. Bellew Elementary School in West Islip recently collected and donated 162 pairs of pajamas to the Pajama Program, a non-profit organization that donates pajamas to children in need. Gianna had read about the organization in her class and with the assistance of her teacher, Mrs. Lenowicz, organized the pajama drive in her school. Gianna was recognized at the June meeting of the West Islip School Board for her efforts.
