WEST ISLIP, NY – Three students of the graduating class at St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School have each been awarded Teufel Family Foundation Scholarships. The Teufel Family Foundation Scholarship selections are made by the trustees of the foundation, Richard Teufel and Victoria Brown, and are presented to graduates who completed the application process and have demonstrated excellence in the area of community service or significant achievement in performing, graphic or fine arts.

Triz Ann Dearoz of Holtsville, is a member of the St. John’s National Honor Society and was awarded the scholarship for her artistic achievements.  The two students who received a scholarship based on their dedicated service to school and community programs were Breanna Clinton of Amityville and Allegra Brown of Central Islip.  Both of these students are also members of the National Honor Society.

Principal Nan Doherty stated, “We are very grateful to Ms. Brown and Mr. Teufel for extending these awards to our Seniors who have been dedicated to the arts and community service.  I am very proud of them and wish them the best in their future endeavors.”
