Mary Haedrich recognized for her volunteer efforts.

In recognition of Mary Haedrich, a West Islip High School senior, was recently given The Young Women in Public Affairs Award by the Zonta Club of Suffolk County.

The award was established to encourage more young women to participate in public and political life by recognizing them for their volunteer leadership and dedication to the advancement of the status of women. Three local high school students were honored and awarded scholarships from Zonta Club of Suffolk County.

The Zonta Club of Suffolk County, a member of Zonta International, is a global organization comprised of executive and professional women working for the advancement of women and girls through service and advocacy.
