POLLING PLACE UPDATES: West Islip

No changes to where local voters will cast their ballots

While Hurricane Sandy has forced the Suffolk County Board of Elections to move some polling places across the County, West Islip will not be impacted.

The BOE also said it is still assessing damages and the power situation at the polls, and as of Friday afternoon had made arrangements to move seven Suffolk polling places in communities including Deer Park, Oak Beach, Ocean Bay Park, Northport, Ocean Beach and Kings Park.

"We are doing everything possible to ensure that our elections will move forward as scheduled," election officials said in a statement.
