Meet Tony, Shelter Pet of the Week

Seeking a new family pet? This sweet kitty might be the right one for you and your family.

Tony is a handsome adult male kitty with a sweet disposition and a short, black-and-white coat of fur at the Town of Islip Animal Shelter who's just waiting to find his forever home filled with much love and care to spare.

According to shelter staff, the tuxedo cat is super affectionate, loves to be brushed and petted. He's already been neutered - and house-trained - and is up to date with his routine shots.

Tony's a tall kitty, and loves to stretch his long legs.

"He'd love a home with a sunny window and someone to show him all of the love that he craves. Please come to the shelter and meet Tony," staff said.

For more information about Tony, call the TOI Animal Shelter at 631-224-5660, e-mail the shelter or visit the website. Tony's tag number is 2085.

Be sure to click the images to see Tony up close. Or simply go to meet him. The shelter’s open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Its been publicized by 5 media sources, their is a lot more behind this than a friggen lab that theyRead More shared. Its the evil people in this town who will stoop so low to present this to the admins instead of finding a sound way of handeling it. They fabricated this story 150% more than it needed to be. Were the kids wrong, absolutely, they did their time and it should have been over and used as a lesson for these 12 kids who most of them had never had an issue in school before. BUT NO, the idiots of this district and they know exactly who they are decide to take it further. Its ok, their time will come. Mark my word, their time will come. Karma! (btw- not ONE picture was taken in class... maybe simon could have said that in his statement) SMH. I agree he should have kept his mouth shut but I know that he was trying to protect his people before the media went off of the other idiots allegations.

I never said they should sweep anything under a rug, I am saying we need to do our own houseRead More keeping. If you ever held a leadership or management position you would know "Praise in public, Correct in private". Since outside of WI no one will ever know who the real offenders were, by it being made public and having a Superintendent contribute to it. All our students are guilty merely by association.

Valerie, I didn't say who called the media. The focus of my comment was that no one, either the BOERead More or the Superintendent's office should be allowed to contribute to negative stories in the media that affect the school district image or its students. These matters are always best handled by attorneys or by persons with public information office experience. The matter should have been treated like any other educated group "NO Comment, Under Review or We are investigating ", we certainty had nothing to gain by Simons negative contribution of the event accept another black eye. Most companies have policies that require prior approval before allowing any employee to dissemination information and especially damaging inquires. The only person who should be allowed to respond to these types of matters is a public information educated person with a board approved message, a lame duck Superintendent is not that person. I hope the BOE takes note and puts measures in place to avoid future incidents of this nature. I am sorry if my reference of Moron offended you, but I call it like I see it, if it walks like a duck and quakes like a duck then it's a duck.

Yes, I was also really disappointed to see the damage to the sign on Lion's Path. Some people haveRead More no respect.

Is it me? Or does anyone else think that all parties involved should be fired for betraying theRead More trust and adding to the tarnished reputation the West Islip School system and its students by reporting the recent cheating scandal to the media. I mean really, did anyone from the district or school system need to contribute to the story in the media, how about no comment the matter is under review. Why does the BOE allow an overpaid moron like Richard Simon with no public information experience to speak to the media let alone anyone? This matter should have been handled by the School Districts attorney. Good job to the Morons of the BOE and Superintendents office keep letting us tax payers down.

You can thank all these POS politicians for the new gun legislation designed to make law abidingRead More citizens give up their second amendment rights out of sheer frustration and incontinence of owning a gun legally for increases in savage on citizen violence. This is only the beginning and in short time many New Yorker's will be forced to remain in their homes fearing one of these animals will make them their pray. I for one believe in the old adage, it's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.
