Islip Town Board Meeting Notes

Animal hospital expansion plan was among the resolutions passed by Town.

A resolution to expand the Atlantic Veterinary Emergency Center in West Islip was passed at Tuesday night's Islip Town Board meeting held at Ronkonkoma Middle School.

The resolution, which was evaluated by the Town of Islip Industrial Development Agency, included a plan to add a 4,000 square foot addition to the property. This addition would help expand the clinic's services to West Islip residents seeking emergency care for their pets, adding a new MRI unit among other types of equipment. This addition would also create 20 new jobs, and it was passed unanimously by members of the Town Board.

Issues addressed in the public hearing included an amendment to the Town code to prohibit parking in one's front yard in order to safeguard the quality of life of residents. The amendment unanimously passed.
