County: Sign Up for CodeRED Notifications

Receive updates from Suffolk County as Hurricane Irene approaches.

With Hurricane Irene setting its on Long Island, Suffolk County officials are urging residents to sign up for the county's emergency notification system. 

The county's CodeRED program allows residents to receive updates about the storm as it draws closer to our area.

The CodeRED system can deliver customized pre-recorded emergency messages directly to county homes and businesses at the proven capacity of millions of calls per day. CodeRED also has high-speed email and text messaging capability, county officials said.

If you know of someone who is interested in the program but does not have Internet access, they can call the Office of Emergency Management’s Customer Service Number (631) 852-4900, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 pm.
