, the Republican nominee for Suffolk County executive, officially opened her campaign headquarters in Bay Shore this past Friday.
The current county treasurer, Carpenter will face Babylon Town Supervisor , a Democrat, this November. The winner will replace current County Executive , who earlier this year announced he would not seek re-election.
At the opening of her campaign HQ, Carpenter of West Islip spoke with Patch about her run for county executive, the just-completed GOP nomination process and the challenges that lie ahead in the campaign.
Carpenter was seen around town visiting with residents during Saturday's Kings Park Day.
