West Islip Woman Dies in Maryland Crash

Shirley Walker-Lloyd may have been suffering a medical condition just before the crash, the Washington Post reports.

A West Islip woman was killed Monday morning in a crash in Maryland, police said.

According to The Washington Post, 76-year-old Shirley Walker-Lloyd died after her van struck a tree in the town Severn. Right before, the van crossed the center line of the roadway on Quarterfield Road and sideswiped a garbage truck, police said.

Walker-Lloyd was not wearing a seatbelt, The Post reports, and may have been suffering from a medical condition at the time of the incident.
