West Islip School District Alerts Residents of Level 3 Sex Offender

A Level 3 sex offender recently moved into a residence on Kurzon Road, according to a message to parents from West Islip Superintendent Bernandette Burns. 

Anthony Correnti, 39, was convicted in 2001 of raping a 13-year-old, according to the state's sex offender website

Correnti, who graduated from West Islip High School, was sentenced to 16 months to four years in prison, but the state website does not specify how long Correnti served.

@gherz....Yes I definitely believe you're right. It seems more and more these days we need to rely on each other and not town officials. This has always been a great town to bring up your family and I refuse to see it go down the tubes because West Islip officials seem to be incompetent in their duties.

He actually grew up in that house he was a west islip resident. I went to school with him. Always weird so not surprised at all by his actions. Disgusting

This is no surprise for West Islip which has been going downhill for a long time. But as long as every one believes that they are buying a decent town I guess it doesnt...matter...??? Of course it matters. The schools are absolutely subpar and getting worse. The neighborhoods rely solely on the reputation of a town that once was. Too much white trash around here.
