West Islip Man Facing Child Pornography Charge

Salvatore Passarelli Jr. is also charged with public lewdness and acting in a manner that could injure a child stemming from a May, 2012 incident.

A 27-year-old West Islip resident is facing a felony charge for possessing a sexual performance of a child following an arrest in Shirley on January 13, according to a police report. 

Salvatore Passarelli Jr. is also facing charges for an incident on May 11, 2012 in which police say included an act of lewdness and acting in a manner that could injure a child. Passarelli was arrested and charged on those allegations on June 15, 2012, according to a state criminal database, and was released pending his next court appearance. A temporary order of protection was filed on behalf of the victim, according to the database.

Regarding the January 13 felony arrest, police say Passarelli possessed child pornography on his personal computer.  Passarelli was also released on the latest charge, pending his next court date, which is Feb. 4, in Suffolk First District Court.
