A West Islip resident reportedly interrupted a car burglary outside of his home on Lawn Avenue in the early morning hours Tuesday.

According to the victim, who requested anonymity, he went outside just after 6 a.m. upon discovering his car light was on. He then found a man searching through his car.

Nothing was taken from the car.

"No items appeared to be taken since nothing was in the car of value," the victim told Patch in an email. "I believe I stopped him soon after he started because there was not much disturbed inside."

A police report was filed shortly after the incident.

The suspect is described as a man about 6 feet 2 inches, white with brown spiky hair, wearing a maroon t-shirt and dark gray jeans.

You can thank all these POS politicians for the new gun legislation designed to make law abidingRead More citizens give up their second amendment rights out of sheer frustration and incontinence of owning a gun legally for increases in savage on citizen violence. This is only the beginning and in short time many New Yorker's will be forced to remain in their homes fearing one of these animals will make them their pray. I for one believe in the old adage, it's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.
