Police Seek Two Who Stole Credit Cards, Jewelry

SCPD say items were taken from West Islip home on March 11.

Suffolk County Police and Crime Stoppers are seeking the public’s help in finding a man and a woman who used a credit card stolen from a home in West Islip.

According to police, on March 11 an unknown person illegally entered a residence on Tanglewood Road in West Islip and stole jewelry and a credit card. The homeowner later learned that the credit card was used to make several unauthorized purchases at several stores in Huntington Station.

Police said the suspects were caught on surveillance video purchasing more than $1,300 worth of clothing with the victim’s credit card at the True Religion store at the Walt Whitman Mall, located at 160 Walt Whitman Road in Huntington Station.

Authorities describe one suspect as a white male with a stocky build. He was wearing black pants, a white shirt, a light-colored jacket, white shoes and a cap on his head. The other suspect is described as a white female with a thin build and long dark hair that was pulled back from her face. She was wearing a black and white shirt under a black vest, and blue jeans with dark boots.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
