Police: Sayville Man Arrested in Pharmacy Armed Robbery

A 52-year-old Sayville man was arrested on Thursday and charged in an armed robbery of a Rite Aid pharmacy in Sayville last week, police said.

According to police, Brian Bernard entered the Rite Aid, located at 101 Main Street on Feb. 27 at 9:09 p.m., armed with a shotgun and demanded money from an employee.

The employee gave Bernard money from cash registers and Bernard fled the store on a bicycle, police said.

Bernard is charged with first degree robbery. He was scheduled to be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Central Islip.
