Police: Man Speeding on Southern State Nabbed on Drug, Forgery Charges

Elijah C. Arbouin is arrested in West Islip Wednesday night.

A West Babylon man was arrested Wednesday night after State Police say he was found to be in possession of drugs and a forged license following a traffic stop on the Southern State Parkway in West Islip. 

Police say state troopers stopped Elijah C. Arbouin, 19, after he was clocked driving 82 mph in a 55 mph zone on the westbound side of the parkway near Exit 41 around 9:45 p.m. 

While investigating, troopers discovered that Arbouin was in possession of 39 grams (1.4 ounces) of marijuana, 30 oxycodone pills, a digital scale an packaging materials, police said. 

Arbouin was arrested and later found to be in possession of a forged New Jersey driver's license, police said. He is charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument, criminal possession of marijuana, criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of drug paraphernalia and multiple traffic violations.

Arbouin will be arraigned in First District Court in Central Islip on Thursday.
