A Lindenhurst man was seriously injured in a head-on crash in West Babylon Tuesday afternoon, police said.
According to police, Joseph Uss, 64, was driving a 2011 Honda CRV west on Montauk Highway when he apparently suffered a medical emergency at about 4 p.m.
Uss lost control of his vehicle which crossed over into the eastbound lanes, west of Great East Neck Road, and struck a 2003 Saturn Vue head-on, police said.
Uss was transported by West Babylon Rescue to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, where he was listed in serious condition, police said.
The driver of the Saturn, Jessica Klein, 21, of Lindenhurst, suffered minor injuries.
The vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
