Man Charged in November Robbery of Aldo Pharmacy

Police arrested and charged Gerald Ott, of West Babylon, with multiple local robberies.

A West Babylon man was arrested and charged with the robberies of West Islip and West Babylon pharmices, Suffolk police said.

Gerald Ott, 25, was arrested by first and third squad detectives, with assistance from the Major Case Investigations Unit on January 13.  He was charged with two counts of robbery in the first degree for the robberies of (604 Union Blvd.) in Nov. 2010 and Belmont Pharmacy in West Babylon in August 2010, police said.  He was also charged with robbery in the third degree for robbing the Chase Bank in West Babylon on Jan. 7.

According to Suffolk police, the U.S. Marshall Fugitive Task Force, along with detectives, went to a motel room in Hazelton, Pa. with the intentions of arresting a man that assisted in the robberies with Ott.  That man was found unconscious from an apparent drug overdose and was transported to a local hospital.  Detectives said he's also responsible for the Path Pharmacy robbery in August 2010, and an additional robbery of Belmot Pharmacy earlier this month.
