Driver Crashes Through McDonald's Play Area, Charged With DWI

An East Patchogue man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after he crashed his car through a fence and into the play area at an East Patchogue McDonald's. 

No one was reported hurt in the crash, which occurred around 3:45 p.m. outside the fast food joint at 769 Montauk Highway. 

The driver of the 2013 Chrysler, Ronnie Foster, 64, is charged with aggravated DWI. 

Police: E. Northport Man Arrested in Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash

An East Northport man was arrested for leaving the scene of a Thursday morning's fatal crash in East Northport, police said. 

Ryan Bales, 24, turned himself into authorities and is charged with leaving the scene of a fatal incident, a felony. 

Bales' vehicle struck Alexander Zydel, whose body was in the roadway on Soundview Avenue shortly before 1 a.m. after he was ejected from his own car when it crashed and hit a tree, police said.

Police: Delaware Teacher From Long Island Had Sex With 13-Year-Old Student

A Long Island native teaching at a Delaware middle school has been arrested after police discovered she was having sexual relationship with a 13-year-old student, authorities said. 

Stephanie Seabury turned herself in at the Dover Police Department on Monday after an investigation revealed that the 22-year-old English teacher at Fred Fifer III Middle School had been engaged in an "inappropriate relationship" with a male student in her class, police said.

Syosset Resident Pleads Guilty to Sales Tax Fraud

A Papa John's franchise owner living in Syosset has pleaded guilty to sales tax fraud, agreeing to pay $500,000 in restitutions, authorities said.

The New York State Department of Taxation and Finance said Syed Mehboob, 45, was connected to six Queens Papa John’s pizza franchises in Astoria, Corona, Woodside, Bayside, and Sunnyside. Arrested in August 2013, he was charged with the theft of several hundred thousand dollars in sales tax for the years 2005 through 2010.

Riverside Inmate Attempts to Escape by Climbing Fence

An inmate attempted to escape from the County Correctional Facility on Wednesday in Riverside around 10:20 a.m.

Matthew Hubrins, 30, who is charged with, among other things, second degree murder, tried to scale an interior fence in a far corner of the jail’s recreational yard, officials said. 

Cops: Man Drove Drunk with 2 Children in Car

A Far Rockaway man was charged with Leandra's Law violations after Nassau County Police said he drove drunk with two children in the car.

Police said Christian Bisono, 40, of Far Rockaway, was driving north on North Central Avenue in Valley Stream "in an erratic manner." Police stopped him after finding out he was drunk, placed him under arrest, cops reported. 

Police: Man Arrested in 2010 Smithtown Bank Robbery

A Central Islip man was arrested on Thursday and charged with robbing a Smithtown bank in 2010, police said. 

Carey Peguese, 37, robbed the TD Bank at 714 Smithtown Bypass on Aug. 26, 2010, but he never returned to his Centereach residence after the robbery to avoid capture, police said.
